Using the Windows 7 Themes in XP and Vista
We know that Windows Vista from Microsoft was not a great version of Windows hence Microsoft has paid more attention towards the personalizing option in the new Windows 7 which is good news for the users. If you have older versions of windows, still you can use these windows 7 themes partly or wholly by using some simple tricks. Using the Windows 7 themes in XP and Vista is not a tough job.
All you have to do is go to the Microsoft windows website and download the themes for windows 7 which you like. When you download them, they are in a zipped format with an extension “.themepack” which is only recognized by the windows 7 version. It contains many pictures, screen savers, sounds, cursors etc. You can simply rename the file with .cab extension and then extract the folder. As soon as you finish extracting it a new folder is available with the new extension. Which can be used for the versions of windows like XP or Vista.
If you want to change the icons appearance for your Windows XP version you can do it by going to the “customized desktop” option in the desktop properties and then select the items you need to change then select “change icon” and browse the icons which you wish to use from the themes folder. You can also do this for individual programs by using same procedure.

I am gonna try it with my XP, Hope it will look great. Thank you .
